Accessibility Statement

1. Our commitment, and what we did about it

We want everybody to be able to read about these wines and find out who stocks them, whatever they are using to do it. Accessibility was a constraint on this site from the first day of design rather than a pass at the end, and the design system it is built on carries accessibility rules as hard requirements.

The site includes:

• A skip link, page headings and landmarks, and a site map for finding pages.
• Keyboard controls for the range filters, retailer directory, mobile menu and age gate, with visible focus styles.
• An age-check dialog that makes the background page inactive and provides labelled date fields and validation feedback.
• A pause control for the scrolling wine band, which starts paused when reduced motion is requested.
• Form errors associated with their fields, focus on the field that needs attention, and persistent status messages for sending, failure and confirmation.
• Flexible layouts and controls designed for narrow screens, text resizing and browser zoom.
• Language markup for Italian product sections and phrases.
• Web summaries of the bottle information in every published sell sheet and tech sheet, available before the optional original-PDF download.

2. Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA and Level AAA.

Covalli is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

• Original PDF sell sheets and tech sheets have accessibility limitations, including scanned text and unverified reading order. Each of the 57 published sheets has a web summary focused on bottle information. These summaries omit contact footers and artwork descriptions and are not complete accessible alternatives to the PDFs. Complete PDF accessibility remains outstanding.
• Screen-reader announcements and compatibility, browser-native text resizing, and some contrast, text-spacing and navigation checks remain unverified. An unverified check is not itself a confirmed failure, but the available evidence does not establish full conformance.

Our target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA for the complete website, including its documents. PDF accessibility and verification remain incomplete, so we do not claim full conformance. If a page or document presents a barrier, contact us for assistance.

3. Feedback, and how to get help

If you hit a barrier on this site, we want to hear about it. It is the fastest way for us to find the thing we missed.

Write to accessibility@covallivineyards.com, or use the contact form. Tell us the page and what happened, in whatever detail suits you. We reply within five business days.

If something is stopping you from getting information you need, say so and we will get it to you another way rather than make you wait for a fix.

4. Another way to get anything here

Anything on this site can be sent to you in another form. That includes a wine’s tasting note and specifications, the contents of a sell sheet or tech sheet, and any part of the store directory - for example, the shops in one town, as plain text or as a phone call.

There is no form to fill in and no reason to give. Ask and we will send it.

5. Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

This site is built to work with current versions of Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and on phones, used with the assistive technology those platforms provide - VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, JAWS, Narrator, keyboard-only operation, voice control, and browser and system zoom.

These are intended compatibility targets, not verified results for every combination. The September 2026 audit used Chrome on macOS, including keyboard interaction and mobile-sized viewports. Screen-reader speech sessions, physical-device checks and cross-browser verification remain outstanding.

6. Technical specifications

Accessibility of this site relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

• WAI-ARIA

These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

Pages are rendered as HTML before they reach your browser. JavaScript is required for the age check, navigation interactions, filters and form feedback. If you cannot use these features, contact us for the information you need.

7. Content we did not make

Sell sheets and tech sheets

The 17 September 2026 inventory examined 57 PDFs: 51 returned no extracted text and six returned some text. Original PDF links open a bottle-information summary first. These web pages omit contact footers and artwork descriptions and do not reproduce every detail of the PDFs. The original PDFs remain unchanged and are not claimed to be accessible. Complete accessible document coverage and specialist validation remain outstanding.

Typefaces

The two typefaces are served by Google Fonts. If they fail to load, the site falls back to typefaces already on your device and stays entirely readable.

8. How this was assessed

A first-party audit on 17 September 2026 covered 47 requested routes at desktop and mobile viewport sizes in both local and live environments. It combined automated accessibility scans with targeted browser checks of keyboard interaction, form states, contrast, narrow layouts and text spacing, plus an inventory of 57 PDFs. It identified six HTML findings across four WCAG 2.2 success criteria.

The original audit was a sample. Follow-up work adds bottle-information summaries, form feedback improvements, automated route checks and browser layout tests. Production browser and document-download checks have also been performed. These checks do not establish compatibility with every browser or assistive technology. Screen-reader speech sessions, physical-device checks, independent review and complete PDF accessibility remain outstanding. Form responses in automated checks are simulated and do not verify email delivery.

This is our own assessment, not an independent audit or certification. Automated checks and fixes to individual findings do not establish full WCAG conformance. We retain the original audit evidence and record remediation checks separately.

9. This statement

This statement was last reviewed on 18 September 2026. We review it whenever the site changes in a way that could affect it, and at least once a year.
